Based on the ship’s design and function, bilge water may contain water, oil, particles, and other materials. As it is, our waterways are heavily polluted unnecessarily and its everyones responsibility to protect it for future generations.
Oil and fuel contain harmful components that could affect human health and severely damage our marine environment (including very small amounts). Only a single pint of oil released into the water can cover 1 acre of a waterbody, impact drinking water and the aquatic ecosystem.
